OEM Kitchen & Bathroom Sealing Tape: A Private-Label Packaging Checklist
An OEM kitchen and bathroom sealing tape order needs two specifications: the roll inside the pack and the pack your customer will buy. For importers and private-label buyers, confirming both before artwork approval makes quotations easier to compare and helps prevent a correct product being supplied with the wrong label, length or pack quantity.

This checklist focuses on turning a selected tape into a clearly defined retail item. If you are still deciding the tape width or material, start with the kitchen and bathroom sealing tape selection guide. Here, the next step is to connect that choice to your packaging brief.
Define one sellable item before requesting a packaging quote
Create a separate specification line for each combination you intend to sell. A different width, color, length or roll count should be identifiable in the quotation, sample request and artwork file. Avoid using one general description such as “white bathroom tape” for several different items.
The yiHom sealing tape range lists PE with butyl adhesive and PVC with acrylic adhesive. Standard thickness is 1 mm for both. These are different constructions, so the packaging brief should name the selected combination rather than treating PE and PVC as interchangeable descriptions.
| Specification field | What to enter in your brief |
|---|---|
| Product construction | PE body with butyl adhesive, or PVC body with acrylic adhesive |
| Finished roll | Selected width, thickness and length, with units |
| Color | Confirmed sample color and your internal item reference |
| Retail unit | Number of rolls in one sellable pack |
| Artwork | File name, revision and intended language |
| Order quantity | Quantity per item, identifying whether the unit is meters, rolls or packs |
Separate roll quantity, pack quantity and total meters
Tape quotations can become difficult to compare when one request is written in meters and another in retail packs. State all three quantities when possible: rolls, rolls per pack and total tape length. If colors or lengths differ, calculate each item separately.
For a planning example, 600 packs containing two 3.2 m rolls each would require 1,200 rolls and a nominal 3,840 m of tape. This calculation describes the proposed pack contents; it is not a yiHom minimum order or a confirmed offer. The supplier still needs to review the item combination and packaging requirements.
The current product page lists lengths of 1.5, 2.8, 3.2, 3.5 and 5 m. Use the selected length consistently in the item list, quotation and label. Confirm size and color availability for the intended quantity before treating an assortment as agreed.
Choose packaging around the sales channel
Start with how the item will be displayed and handled. A hanging retail display, an online order and a bulk installation order need different briefs. Provide the intended display method, any retailer dimensions and whether the buyer expects one roll or a multipack.
The existing sealing tape packaging examples show starting points for discussion. They do not confirm that every pictured pack suits every roll. Ask for the proposed pack dimensions and a sample with the actual selected roll inside it before approving the format.
For an online listing, also specify which dimensions should be shown in product images and which information should be visible on the pack. Product photographs and printed artwork should describe the same item that the customer receives.
Prepare the label copy and artwork together
Give the supplier an artwork brief that identifies the product, its contents and its intended use. Keep the product description specific to kitchen and bathroom joint tape so it is not confused with carton-sealing tape or PTFE thread-seal tape.
Include these items in the review:
- Brand artwork and the item reference used in your purchase order.
- Tape construction, width, length, color and rolls per pack.
- Barcode artwork supplied or approved by your business, if required.
- Market language and approved installation instructions.
- Any retailer-required text or layout requirements.
- The exact file revision that is being approved for print.
Discuss storage guidance, application conditions and any waiting period with the supplier for the selected construction. Do not copy those instructions from an unrelated tape. Performance statements such as mold resistance need evidence for the actual product being labeled.
Review a packed sample before approving print
Check the pack as a complete retail item. Verify that the roll fits, the printed dimensions are readable, the quantity matches the item list and the opening or display arrangement suits the intended channel. Check a barcode using the finished artwork where applicable, rather than relying on its appearance in a design preview.
Record changes in one revision list. If the tape width or roll length changes, review the packaging again; a previous packed sample may no longer represent the final item. Keep product approval and artwork approval identifiable even when both happen in the same review.
Questions to resolve before the order
Can one packaging design cover several tape sizes?
A common design may be practical, but each item still needs its correct dimensions, color and contents. Confirm how the variants will be distinguished and whether the physical pack fits each roll. Agree on the final item list and artwork versions before treating the shared design as approved.
Does a private label require a new product mold?
A branding or packaging request does not by itself establish a tooling requirement. yiHom lists customization of tape dimensions, color and packaging, with non-standard structures and sizes evaluated for new tooling. Submit the product and pack requirements together so the supplier can identify what development is actually needed.
Send a packaging brief that can be quoted
Include your item table, target quantity, sales channel, artwork and packed-sample requirements in the inquiry. Ask the quotation to separate the agreed product, packaging and any development items, with timing confirmed for that scope.
Review yiHom's OEM and private-label options, then send your sealing tape packaging brief. A defined sellable item is the starting point for a useful packaging quotation.
